Abstract

This article is the result of a literature study focusing on efforts to create archival human resources in Indonesia. Archives as evidence of various events have a very important meaning for the continuity of a country and really need educated and superior resources. Assumption that the field of archives can be managed by anyone is a particular concern, eventhough archive management requires special competencies that require academic, professional and practical skills. Therefore, Indonesia needs to increase the quantity and quality of human resources in the archieve field through the opening of archival study programs in formal tertiary education institutions starting from the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels and to provide job vacancies in archiving. It is hoped that these ecosystems will increase public interest in getting involved in archiving.
